rumination

what i am
and am not

what you are
and aren't

and us,

you and i --
what
we are
and what
we want
and don't want
and will
and won't do
for love
and money

and things

so much
clutter
in our
little lives

all this --
what we have
and what we wish for,
our little prayers
and how we pine
and wish and wonder
and want

want

want

and the mind,
the body
wanting

always

something

some
magical
thing

and what we
give for it

our time

ever more precious
and slipping
away
and how the best
is already gone
so quickly
and how
we're here now
and then gone
and this house,
this stuff
is here and gone

and how we know
that
but, god,
how we still want
want

want

and worry

over dust

Author's Note
A meandering poem.
A meandering mind walking in circles.
The thing about time is we don't know when we'll run out of it.
I always forget that.
