Sunshine
There's a warmth you barely notice
slowly climbing up her way
the heart of life enduring
loving light you wish would stay
she lifts her head each morning
the songbird gift her tunes
moving forward in attraction
hints of glory inside the swoon
my mind most often elsewhere
in daze about the day
she rises without expectations
enlightening the proper stay
beauty can't describe her
always giving exact truths
in her I see a future
where nights of love do soothe
her fire red has brightened
the clouds break off their way
the sky so blue and brilliant
these moments I beg to stay
sunshine stills these moments
captured in a flash
burning deep inside
they'd never turn to ash
