Image for the poem daisy chains

daisy chains

electric blue fusion of the day's colors
happy to be in the moment
the sun lit the stage for the happening

innocence chant songs
to the beat of a field cricket's melody
lazy daisy chains are woven in friendship

the winds blow easily across the plain
while grass sway waving little hellos
to the passerby's

in tune with the heart of the day
wildflowers dot the fields
dressed in their Sunday best

the river of contentment flowed onward
out to the ocean of enchantment
while seagulls make easy circles in the skies

when the sunset on the perfect day
a hush covered the land
as the colors fade and dusk turn into night

the day wept for the joy it held
