If We Could be Strangers Again
If we were strangers again,
I would find you just the same.
You still would be--an angel to me
If we were strangers again.
If I could find myself anywhere
I would pray to take us there.
Though it’s been over a year,
It’s as if it has come here:
If we could be strangers--once more
I would love you as I never loved before.
If we were strangers again,
I’d try to find you as I never did before.
And if I knew we would meet someday,
I would wait a lifetime--for our paths to cross.
So see me once more in the past,
And we will meet at last
If we were--and if we could be
If we were--and if you would see
If we were strangers again.
And I will say, “Since you have come
Life can do no wrong.”
If we were strangers again.
