Walking across the mountains
under the BlueRidge skies
I see home within your eyes
callin’ and I sigh...

Taking me way back in time
singing all night-
we played our hearts out
neath a black starry sky

Songs from another place
and another time -woven lines
sweetly caught in days gone by

I can still see home within your eyes
wearing that Calico dress I adore
humming a tune that brings me back
years in time to home...

Where you smile lit up the night sky
and a rising mist slowly fills my eyes
as the memories flood over my life
with those lyrics resting in my soul

Where we ran free through the haunts
and hollers into the deep dark woods
free like 2 yearling deers
caught up in the mountain air

Coming back into destiny’s rhyme
that spills like a waterfall
cascading slow runnin’ through my soul
writing its name on me forever more

and life is a passion
in these mountains high
stand in’ tall in their blue quilted haze
my heart is entangled in time
braided in the grass rocks and trees
refined...

like a chained memory
tucked in a locket full of dreams
that resides free resting midst the scene

That will call me from a place
that I know...
stand in’ tall above nature’s throne

Home...

And my heart is chained to the earth,
rocks, and trees and echos that time
whispers over and over
calling me softly

Home....

And the heart talks in plaintive pleas
like and old friend to me
deep in my soul
calling me.... calling me.....

Home...

and no matter where I’ve gone
or how far I’ve roamed
like a Swallow in spring
I return home..

caught in the trance and stability
flowing in between the shadows and leaves
wrapped in sacred memories

Home....
