Covid 19: Life Goes On

 
Regardless of what's going on
In our world today
Life goes on in its natural course
The sun continues to rise in the East
And  sets in the West each day we live

The moon is there in the sky
To light the darkness of night
The wind keeps blowing
The rain is still falling on the dry earth

The birds are singing in the trees
The flowers are blooming in the fields
The rivers are flowing to the seas
The oceans are stirring with underwater life

Babies are born every hour of the day
People are struggling with life everywhere
The sick in the hospitals are dying day by day
In the scheme of things nothing has changed
But this pandemic is trying to change the order of things

It changed our way of living
In just a short span of time
It changed our relationship dynamics
From connectedness to social distancing
From togetherness to isolation
From cohesiveness to disintegration

In the bitterness of separation
In between living and dying
The stars continue to shine
And life goes  on
