between the vampire’s survival and
sacrifice of the one they love
 
universal desire for
immortality  
balanced by loss of the soul
 
cursed to surrender to
animalistic needs
forever
 
survival dependent on
sucking vitality from others
in exchange for immortal life
 
to love a vampire
means to sacrifice the soul
to the beast
 
to give up
the light
of day
 
the immortal struggles to decide
kill their lover and
hold on to them forever or
 
allowing mortality and
inflicting upon themselves the
agony of outliving the beloved
