I question myself umpteen times a day
For I’ve never known any other way
Although I’m bout to burst with what I’ve got to say
There aren’t enough words to make you stay

I remember the days when we would frolic and play
How you’d go off running this or the other way
I would try to catch you and fro strength I’d pray
But there were no others how there were today

You took off running before Id pushed sleep away
Didn’t leave a note or say if you’re okay
But I guess I should’ve know how the pendulum swayed
And I should’ve know that our relationship was then slayed
