Piggy Parable
Kind farmer Desmarais
wears earplugs everyday
while traipsing the forest
with a cacophonous pig.
Preferential treatment
the beast was awarded
when their snout was found
*idoneous for sniffing out
truffles underground.
Each morning, at cockcrow
farmer with privileged porcine
embark on their daily stroll.
Throughout their journey
the insatiable hog whines
producing a terrible din.
Complaining of substandard slop
and the filthy, malodorous sty
he sleeps in.
The proud porker speaking with indignation
“Listen, I make you a lot of money.
I deserve more refined accommodation.
And I should dine like those Iberian pigs,
on acorns, apples, milk and honey."
“Oh you are one vainglorious hog”
replies the humble, hardworking agrarian
“I can easily give your job to a dog
and your lucky I'm vegetarian."

Author's Note
Idoneous is Dictionary.com's word for the day. I really don't know how some of these ideas come to me, like this poem. Being satisfied with what you have can save your life give you time and space for happiness.

Traipsing ... what a great plump juicy word ... cacophonous ... another ... insatiable ... din ... malodorous ... strung together like poetic pearls ... all combined in this wonderful verse ... love love love it ... bravo dear GW ... bravo ...
