I stand atop this landmark skyscraper
and stargaze at the impressionist view
No silvery diskette hanging in there tonight
just a million twinkles across multiple dimensions
some dead, some dying and many young fireballs
radiant, radiating thru interstellar space

I wander across the concrete space
wondering about less black space
in between and the irony of the nonexistence
of many from those limitless constellations
and yet momentarily alive-one blink immortal

I stare down at the thin haze of fading purple
with fleeting headlights and diminishing tail lights
restless, racing-A million of broken gold shimmers
controlled by mere hands and mere conditions
which alter at the wink-the typical city traffic

A drizzle of tiny ingots of glittering gold
with sprinkled flashes of mechanical polychrome
eschewing the engulfing darkness
and perpetual melancholia which permeate
the city skies and tiny lives
along every breath-every blink-tear-smile

The low rumble of snaking trains and a hundred honks
provide the final concerti in the exultant symphony
and I sigh beneath the sky seated high
with a wry smile looking at a illuminated billboard
showing a can of soft drink with canned laughter
The city slides into slumber with methodical precision
the squares of black and white around change shapes

I roll over my crumpled sheet in amorphous optimism
weighing my options of being cock eyed or going blind
while the sea breeze brings the oneiric curtains down
'Man Down' screams the half lit amphitheatre of my mind
as equidistant from the bi-flooding of tiny glimmers

I begin my descent into the rerun of weightlessness
below the crisscrossing paths of translation flights
I' am a man-shaped focal point, a midair trance-craver

Goodnight, the world of lights-the lights of world.
