A Day Late And A Resurrection Short

An excellent example of Easter resurrection,
We all die in apocalypse God blesses mercifully,
Eyes wide I watch a world kill its silenced suicidal self,
Risen from the grave in a cave saving our unopen hearts,

Miracle man planning on protecting the protagonist,
Switched up from the last time I was at war with raging animals,
Light a fire in my eyes looking past the highest horizon,
When I die how much forgiveness are they handing out up there,

Why would He pay for our sins knowing how all this ends,
Begin to fret at the possibility that none of us make it into Heaven,
I'd rather take the promise of perfected punishment,
Had to get it off my chest all the bad things I think about,

Rounding off the corners to my roughest edged thoughts,
Turned into a weapon off the suggestion to survive another day,
Warning, parental discretion adviced for us and a violent God,
Placing the burden of existence on the morally devoided,

We go down like a seventy foot squid in the ocean,
If God had a plan I wish I could understand it just a little,
What we do ripples in the water forever and ever into abyss,
Harnessing energy we've created off the mystery of hysteria,

Keeping me alive this whole time I've wondered why,
Aligning the planets for a thousandth cycle around infinity,
Watch as our dust crumbles into nothing then what becomes,
When these drifting words travel to other worlds and fall apart,

In the middle of pack how can you relax,
Another frantic human freaking out about,
How to stop feeling terrible for sentience.
