Madness Unleashed

I've been stumbling in the dark
Blindly running full speed
A prodigal mad woman
Muscles burning
With an ache in my bones
And a hole in my heart

Snatching pieces of broken souls along the way
Patching holes and sewing buttons
Just a little tender loving care for my rag doll body
Drifting from house to haunted house
Wreaking havoc on some unfortunate misfits

I've been chasing visions
Shooting assailants in a hall of mirrors
Only to find out the demon was me
I've run out of places to run

It's just a ticking time bomb
Echoing off the walls in this house
The air is dark and heavy
Saturated with the sorrows of all of us

A den of lions is no place to rest
The endless wilderness outside looks ever more tempting
She is shrieking like the mysterious cries in the night
A chilling rush in my body

It's a side of me I just can't kill
But she's been reborn from the ashes
A fire consumed her while she danced through hell

Now she's crawling from the soot
Broken and bleeding from running for so long
She reaches for my hand with a girlish smile
No need to run from the only thing keeping me alive
This girl is me
And I am she
