The Acquiescence of Grief

The pain remains and never ceases
Over time we just collect the pieces
Of our hearts as we depart our grieving
When we start the part of our healing

Dealing with the loss of a loved one
Is like emotional eclipsing of the Sun
The one that gave you many sunny days
Unfortunately has met their end of days

Passed away but stay in our thoughts
They lost the battle that they fought
Then we're caught in the cycle of grief
A cycle that never seems to be too brief

Relief comes in the form of fond memories
Temporarily removing us from the miseries
Eventually the memories exceed the anguish
Once the depression decides to acquiesce
