Paneful Tears. :- Leading to Lessons for Life.

Raindrops on the windowpane, merging together and running down like tears.
Crying eyes, these windows on the world, not always liking what they see.
Man’s cruelty, his inhumanity toward mankind. The sheer futility of it.
You have something I want, I kill you and I have it.
Someone bigger, stronger than me comes along, they want it, kill me, they have it.
That just about sums it up since the beginning of time.
I think in the right circumstances, we are all capable of killing another human being. Defending your own life or that of a loved one.
Like killing out of revenge when act of pure evil is committed upon you.
Strength should be used to protect the weak, but from what if there are no threats.
No one wanting to enslave our people or steal our land.
Or the oil, gold, or other riches it holds.
Is this the dream that Martin Luther King once had?
That the whole world would one day be content with what they have and live in peace. Loving one another irrespective of colour, creed, or religion.
Will the meek ever inherit the earth, before its destroyed by the rest of mankind?
Oh for a clean slate. If only we could start all over again.
Rewrite history from the very beginning.
We cannot change the past. What’s done is done and will remain so forever.
But we can change the future by teaching the children of the world to be more loving. More tolerant and kind. More understanding, respectful and compassionate.
And all of the other good human traits that I know we all possess.
That way, future generations can only benefit from living in a better world.
Most of all, a world without fear.

I am not a particularly religious man, only having regularly attended church until my early teens. Like the majority of my friends and neighbours, apart from weddings and funerals I haven’t attended a church service since. Church attendances have fallen so badly over the years. Is it because there are now more Christians practicing their faith outside the church than there are inside the church?
If so, lets harness this vast army of non church-going Christians and encourage them to teach today’s young the following verse I have written.
It’s entitled “Lessons For Life”, and like the last line infers, the world would be a better place with us having been here.

Lessons For Life

When you’re old enough for school
Take this advice from an old fool
Listen to what your teachers are telling
Learn all about doing sums and spelling
It will help you out as seeds are sown
And you have children of your own
But other lessons must be learned
Before a living can be earned
Like tolerance, patience, self discipline
Never vent your anger, control it within
Respect your parents all your life through
Pity others less fortunate than you
Keep your heart pure, as white as a dove
Learn compassion, how to cherish, and love
Understand others with a different view
Black or white, or a mix of the two
Don’t teach yourself just how to hate
The worlds in your hands, not those of fate
Before going out, a living to earn
All of these lessons you can learn
To teach others of the human race
And leave this world a better place
