Corduroy Blue
He sits on a shelf,
Away from everything else,
A momento that I can't get to.
I'd like to take him down,
Straighten his crown,
And tell him, "Oh bear, I still love you"
But my words will go unheard,
To think not, would be absurd,
Sad eyes in corduroy blue.
Why did I have to place you so high,
To be alone in the sky,
If the purpose was to protect you?
As the years go by,
I see that it was I,
I've been giving my protecting to.
Away from everything else,
A momento that I can't get to.
I'd like to take him down,
Straighten his crown,
And tell him, "Oh bear, I still love you"
But my words will go unheard,
To think not, would be absurd,
Sad eyes in corduroy blue.
Why did I have to place you so high,
To be alone in the sky,
If the purpose was to protect you?
As the years go by,
I see that it was I,
I've been giving my protecting to.
