Korokaja ~ (Let's go now)

~Korokaja

One step, forward
Then, another one.
Kaja~

Don’t, look at me.

Cause when you blink, away
Between your stolen words,
I cry~

(*instrumental*)

Songbird whistles, small and frail
One heart paralyzed, from their stares:

“Just turn back now, don’t be scared.”

“It’s not over, just broken.”

“It’s not gone, no, only just hidden.”

“It’ll be fine, just, smile once more.”

But, I’m not fine.
No, I’m not fine.

(*instrumental + build up*)

Korokaja, korokaja
Korokaja, korokaja

Korokaja, korokaja
Korokaja, korokaja~~

(*stripped down piano + vocals*)

Don’t look, back now.
Don’t look, back now.

~~

*Korokaja or, ‘geol-eogaja’ (abbr. = ‘gaja’) means “let’s go now” in Korean*

These English lyrics, made by me, speak about a breakup, and the thoughts that race through one’s head as they walk away from the relationship.

This song is a cover sung by the talented indie duo OKDAL of the song "Korokaja (걸어가자)" by the artist, Lucid Fall.

Imagine yourself leaping along the current of a river with the cold wind passing through your hair. That is how breathtaking OKDAL's cover, (and also Lucid Fall's original lyrics) are to me.

So, regardless of if you like my lyrics or not, the cover of this song (in my opinion) is definitely a breathtaking experience that one should not miss.

Author's Note
This simple song is about someone who is in the middle of walking away from someone they don't love anymore. The songbirds in this song reveal that the person wants to turn back so badly, hoping that love can still be found. But in the end, they realize that they cannot be together anymore, because they have suffered long enough. So, in a courageous act of defiance, they decide to walk away for good.
