Did someone in passing inquire, the resident did he live here
last finale, the truth as he coughed and choke
shoes and clothes, rags and holes
in alley long, the house shadows obscures
Springs heavy flower soon drops, and then decays
time of refreshing rain. for each expired still stands admired
beauty in the sin of innocence. and ruins rise the same
the dust that blinds the gaze
A new presence is it calm, a tranquil balm
todays issues, and hell held at the length of arm
the winds of time, eddy across our promised land
sway subtle reed for tomorrows shallows reveled
Dog tugs the lead, hears laughter that soon heals

I'm still trying to wrap my brain around the poem of Yehuda's you used for inspiration!

I read it, I think it lost a lot in translation I just found some notes I could use. A VERY difficult poet to appreciate ( eclectic ?)

I like how you took your own creative direction with this tribute, some of Amachais poems are very coded, they seem to be open to interpretation. Reflecting on today's events is a good way to go to tie into those past events that he alluded to.

thanks for the invite, if I understand correctly do the rules state that you have to complete a set No of poems in a set time. I am quite a quick writer, but at my age 78 (maybe the oldest in DU) quite a challenge. Regards Slip

Its any one poem a day (it can be the same poems you are posting on your own poem pages) with 50 unique words apiece minimum, you use word counter.net to count each day by copy pasting it in, then copy pasting it into the Napowrimo comp thread, thats about it, and its a challenge, meaning theres no penalty for not finishing except you just don't get the trophy unless you finish, so there's nothing to lose by entering, its fun and gets your work noticed. There is a list of basic guidelines that will be posted at the beginning when it starts, but you can ask any questions in the speakeasy forum and Ahavati and Johnny will answer them :)

Ah now here we have a stumbling block. in Word I can do the word count and cut and paste, but cut and copy to DU that's way beyond my IT skill set. Is that possible ? regards SLIP
