The Storm is Past

The storm is past
Fierce windswept cast
The dark that hides the stars of night with pouring
Roiling billows and occasioned flash in warring
Elements seeming fierce in their distress
In rising crescendo find their crest
Then, sound and fury spent, all is stilled
Save the song of birds' joyous trilled
For however dark, then comes the light
Dispelling tempests of the night
On a day that bears the hint of spring, and warmly so
And greens the banks along the creek's burbled flow
Between the fields and threaded pine
I walk grateful for a day as fine
