Image for the poem If you can

If you can't save me, take me

Why you never there?
I've been patient
And praying
But you never seem to care.

Why is it that I want you
you are never there?
I'm bitter,
I'm angry
And even when I turn my back on you.
You don't seem to care.

I looked for you everywhere
I stayed in faith even when it hurt.
Set my eyes on you and nobody else.
I gave you everything until I had nothing left.
Why is it that I got nothing in return?

They say you're quick to hear,
But you take time to respond.
I don't think I still have it in me to hold on any longer.
I'm the first to bleed and last to heal,
Why is it that my pain you fail to see.

You know I'm perfect,
Yet you still gave your son to die on the cross for me.
I know I'm selfish
And greedy.
To ask this of you,
if you can't save me
Then take me.
