Image for the poem Serene Scene

Serene Scene

As I sit here looking out the window at the sea blue sky
Seeing marshmallow clouds moving right before my eyes
I realize just how serene this scene is for me
Viewing trees with varying degrees of growing leaves

Prepping for Spring & caged birds that sing
As my inner being thinks about an array of things
Like how the grass is money green from all the rain
Because it persevered through the storms life brings

Pondering if the same thing pertains to us all
Increasing intestinal fortitude when we stand tall
Refusing to fall when all seems lost in the world
When we're sick to our stomachs, about to call Earl

Able to find pearls when we dig deep beneath
Rising like the roses growing out of concrete
Never conceding defeat as we read tales of allegory
Finding blessings in the lessons embedded in each story
