Burying Season

They say seasons change in the passing days
Months move about as fast as the clouds above me
Except the ones inside my head
Settled and filled with rain
Make them move like you did when you left me
Uncover this wound of mine
So it can start healing

Buried under leaves
When the season didn’t change
And the trees lost their beauty
To cover my ugly
Guess I’ll hide my feelings
Piling up
Let them fall

Nobody to hold
Wiping tears is too much for them
Raking is a chore
Nurturing comes naturally
What made me the victim of neglectful gardening
And front yard cleaning?
My mind is a graveyard
Where my feelings sleep
Burying season is my favorite
Because it chose me

They say that people change
Time is a beautiful thing
Waiting won’t stop the wind from blowing
Or make my head any less cloudy
Too late to love me
I’ve found where I belong
Burying season is forever
It fills me up
More than anyone
