The HCC Class of 2018

2018 was a turning point year for me. I thought I was gonna be a poet; write a book, etc... lololol

But online the word was.... join other poetry websites if you want a prayer of a chance. I found DUP... Woah....my world cracked open.

Being stubborn, very stubborn.... despite being massively dwarfed by talent on every side.... I decided I was still a writer. A deformed, little dwarf writer with a crooked, leaky pen...

So off I toddled to HCC to get my act together... everybody was very kind to me. I was very grateful. But... I made more than writing mistakes.

That's just what I'm still working on. My poetry has improved greatly. But my teachers still don't have a clue how I appreciated what they gave. Especially, I bet, Ahavati. I didn't tell her that because of all her hard work... after she helped me write "My Maserati ( 2.0)" I was starting (forgot how far I got) to formulate a plan to make a seal (a .svg file) to put on HCC groomed poetry...  as a gift 'cause I thought more people would be interested in reading one of those types of poems.

I'm waiting for our 21st Anniversary of marriage to publish my fresh version! I want to put it out on the day. (Publishing was originally delayed on the dream putting it up with the seal ...I never made.)

So because I waited to be more spectacular with my thank you... the next thing I knew... it was getting shut down! I thought maybe that was my fault... I should have expressed myself more clearly, and promptly. The cost of not doing that was astronomical.

I really felt like I held back on expressing my feelings then... or just at least... that my attempt to express myself came out sad, like "nice making" but I really meant what I said. I really was and still am grateful.

That forum really made me see poetry with fresh eyes. And I continue to improve with their advice still echoing in my ears. 💖💖💖🙏😎
