I Saw Her Today

-Slow, Melodic Ballad-
-Capo Acoustic Guitar on 5th Fret, Key of G-

So, I saw her today for the first time in awhile and yeah, she's carried through well. But as she took me by the hand I could feel right away...I had missed on my one promise land.
Though, gone were all the years since our final, sad goodbye, when each tear held a special kinda pain. Always thought we'd be as one again...guess the distance grew (so) self-contained.
-Chorus-
-And through all those lonely nights I have kissed her in my dreams but the dawning light breaks us, once again. While outside I hear the cries of Mourning Doves to sky and for another day...I will pretend.-
So I asked her how she'd been and she answered, "Pretty Fine." Well, she always was and always she will be. With concern on her face she could tell how I'd placed and forever knows...I will always bleed.
But, today the Sun was kind as we laughed about good times, when a radio began to play our Beatles song. So we sang and slowly danced, holding tight a whispered chance, hoping...we could right the wrongs.
-Middle 8 Lead Break-
-Chorus-
-What can you ever do when true love had come through...but it's lost because you tossed it all away? Well, you dwell in owned Hell but you sing to your song and just pray for a chance,...like today.-
-Ending Chorus-
-Well, I wish this slow dance could last a full life...But, I know we must go our seperate ways. So, let's share one more glance and hold tight this final dance...that I will carry... til the end of days.
- 4 measures then end on sustained note-
