THE LIGHT
Beside herself
she was that day,
when the light
went that way.
She wasn’t gone,
she was still there,
although part of her
floated in the air.
She couldn’t speak,
she couldn’t move,
she’d fallen into
another groove.
Out of sync in
a different time,
until she heard
a distant rhyme
Singing softly
through her ear,
telling her there
was nothing to fear
As no one knew
what to do or say,
when the light
went that way.
