Where is the party tonight?
An uncharacteristic phone call
and a hyperactive thong
of young things
yelling
yelping
yielding
yearning
I got sucked inside
this sudden vortex
Saturday night
Standing-in-the-line
An hour of a stuck phase of daze
and finally we all got inside
It was the first time for all of us
of course everything has a first time
The-deep-purple-artificial-darkness
with the smell of
pheromones and weed
and loud thumping and flailing limbs
welcomed us all-in some way
All of them went down on the floor
and got lost in the melee
in psychedelic oblivion
of chaotic movement
a Grand Canyon
of wear and tear
I sat down at a corner
and w a i t e d
And some time later
a hand touched me
Eons later I registered
what was being said to me
I-followed-suit-and-got-out
to the stifling breeze outside
permeated with
soot-sex-sordid life
Taking a stroll we tried to make sense
as catcalls and leering eyes followed
until we reached the vehicle
and all of us stood stiff
Taking the key from a frozen hand
I opened the door and
helped everyone get in
drunk
stoned
sleepy
glum
Someone coughed mildly
and asked
if-we-did-have-a-good-time
Nobody answered
we all looked down
And the car refused to start.
