Lady Bug

When she was a little girl
New to the world
Fresh start with an open heart
She felt love from her mother
She knew someone was missing... her father
As years went by and she grew older
Her thoughts began to mature
She knew she was deprived from the love of her dad
It began to create resentment and made her sad
She had a piece of her missing
Just turned eighteen
She would now go out and party
Thinking her void would be filled by thinking more... openly
Next day she wakes and realizes she no longer had her virginity
A downward spiral began
Being used again and again
Thinking she could find a feeling of love from a man
She chose this life for herself
But her judgment she didn't trust
She wanted to make a change for the better
But even so she went to a party no matter
She got drunker and drunker
A boy she didn't recognize started talking to her
She knew she was done with her old ways
But she went to his car anyways
He began to take her pants off
She knew where this was going
She tried saying, "we should stop what we are doing."
But he was persistent on continuing
The deed was done
She had been raped and trusted no one
She knew it was due to her horrible decisions
But the fact remained for what happened there were reprocutions
On both sides
Her courage grew in size
She reported the rape at the station
They got a DNA match and he was put in prison
She began to pray every night for an answer
"Why is this happening, my life is a disaster!"
"Where are you father? I need you more than ever."
She heard a ringing in her ear
And a voice emerged loud and clear
"My lady bug, I am so sorry."
"I made mistakes and got locked up in the penitentiary."
"I got out around your eighteenth birthday."
"I was making my way to see you that day."
"But I was side swiped."
"I was fighting and fighting, but I lost my life."
"Don't be sad my lady bug, okay?"
"I thought of you and wrote to you everyday."
"Now I need you to be strong for me."
"And listen closely."
"I know you have had trials and tribulations."
"And you have just been through one of the worst situations."
"But I know God has a greater plan for you."
"And I promise you will make it through."
"I love you."
Her father's voice was gone
She couldn't breathe and the tears I've begun
She cried and cried
But deep down inside
She knew her father would always be at her side
And she just needed to remember his advice
