Unknown

Sepia hair with golden streaks

coral eyes that reached the farthest seas

you were a innocent child

one with big dreams but lived in a small town

no one really knew your fate

not even you

you woke up each dawn and walked into the forest

you were never scared of dark shadows

you welcomed them because you escaped your reality

they gave you hugs and wiped your tears with their false promises

in return, you gave them your precious heart

you saw the sunshine in every heart

and yet, you were created from moonbeams and the petals of roses

you wore no shoes when you went outside

and no weather could swallow your urge to explore

people question your motives but you only sighed

you wished to climb mountains and shout to the breeze

but you were scared–scared of your destiny

I often think about you, that sweet child

Has she faded away into a strong woman?

I will not know the answer for you never told secrets
