To the dead

I dedicate this to the dead,
the trail blazers,
the originators,
those deep thinkers and feelers
who still possess the pencil lead,
whose messages
 still echo
in every potentially poetic thing
 I've ever said.

They created the current me,
aided me
in this awakening,
guided me
 through
intravenous bouts of insanity,
showed me
the infinite spectrum
of human mentalities and
 metaphysical possibilities,
rearranged the way in which
I see and experience reality.

I'm in debt to the dead,
innovators and sometimes
disturbed individuals
producing incredible works of art
impossible to ignore or deny,
laying the fucking foundation
upon which we all build off of.
I owe
and respect y'all deeply
for opening
my mind and eyes
to see beyond the lies
I've been told and tell myself.

The poets
The musicians
The inventors
The philosophers,
 anyone producing something
that has a universally profound effect
on everyone.
We should pay homage to
our heroes and influences,
who opened the doors to different
methods of creation,
providing new pathways
for emotional and spiritual expressions.

I can thank many
for making my life more interesting
and for being the catalyst's for extreme
change and shifts in consciousness.
