Path To Lips

Only a thin strip of fabric
rests across the opening,
his acute attention
inhaling every detail

he will not resist
to glide digit
along the fold
avoiding the skin
until he deems
it ready

The covering
carefully pulled forward,
engaging the wet mark
with a delicate tickle
before advancing deeper
past knuckle

In concentrated effort,
following the rhythm of breath
and rise in her bare chest
slowly out
and firmly back in

A treasured way
for certain afternoons
to begin.
