Thinking Truths

I lie in the dark;
I am thinking truths.

Heavy hearts are made light
With the leak of time,
Like a speaking mime
That might finally part
With his quiet pursuits

I lie in the dark;
I am thinking truths.

Tension grows meager
With a soothing phrase;
One thatís moving, plays
Eagerly at the mention
Of the slightest bruise

I lie in the dark;
I am thinking truths.

Love is the enemy of hate,
So take care that they donít hold hands;
A manís greatest dare to make:
To challenge fate and the stars above
To write of his lifeís good use

I lie in the dark;
I am thinking truths.

A womanís worth is unlimited,
Her powers hold such sensation;
To cower from her invasion
Is a simpletonís curse;
Let her smile, be amused -

I lie in the dark;
I am thinking truths.

If seeing is believing,
Then the day will be pleasant;
Hesitant eyes look away,
While peeping eyes are perceiving
A wise attempt to enthuse:

I lie in the dark;
I am thinking truths.
