My Wheelchair and Me
Together we are unstoppable
Like a horse and its jockey
we race ahead of the crowd
I am the brain, it is the brawn
and together we are whole.
Apart we are useless,
helpless, and stationary
But joined, we are a single bond
free and powerful
no one can stop us.
They are free to keep pointing and laughing
talking behind hands, joking at our expense
but it doesn't matter
because we are free.
Free to leave them far behind
back, in their ignorance and hate
while we race ahead
toward a better future
where everyone is free
that’s what we do

Wow a moving awesome powerful poem, with your poetic prowess you are freer and more mobile than those without a wheelchair but who can't write and express so superbly. Kudos and keep writing.
