The Bug That Fell In Love With The Flower

I never expected it to rain that day because the sun was so bright and hot. Everything had a yellow glow according to the sunlight.

Fashionably hot I flew to a spot under a leaf; shapes like a mosquito swat. It suddenly started to rain and the memories came striking like lightning.

My shelter was complete. I stayed until the rain was done but by then it was night and I was stranded under a wet leaf.

The green sepals towered over me. Each motion tilts them to my fear of me falling off the leaf. It was dark and even after the rain, it was hellishly hot.

The night was noisy, hot and annoying. The sounds of the night screamed deafeningly loud and unfamiliar at times scaring me from my slumber.

As it dawned on me that it was dawning out, a fresh scent caught my attention. Although I wasn’t ready to get out of my slumber, it shook me steadily until I did.

The huge green sepals blossomed into the most beautiful flower I have ever seen. Its aroma stains my memory and seduces my stylet into action.

I wanted to get close to it but its colors were too perfect to tamper with so early. I flew around the flower getting better views for memory.

I forgot my home address and spent the rest of the new day playing around with this pretty young thing. I kept its company for days until it died.

I spent the rest of my life moving from sepals to stems and back again but I never met another flower with petals so immaculately soft and beautiful like those ever again.
