For A Dragon In Winter🐲

A dragon in Winter is glorified,
In snow shingles hung on her draft’d wings.
Above the rafters where her victims hide,
Her brittle shadow coveted by kings.

Before this time of year she had a mate,
A dragon in Winter is glorified.
The tiny prince in slumber as he waits,
Is gently rock’d by mother as she’ll glide.

And then she finds a cave both deep & wide,
Ten knights go out to kill her noble Heath’.
A dragon in Winter is glorified,
To strip him to the bone to sell the meat.

In coinage of the realm they go to pay,
A half-ton dragon skin tanned for its hide.
Each wears his finest armour on the way,
A dragon in Winter is glorified.
