"See me
I don't see “me” anymore
the happy girl I was before
Just a stranger now
Just a shell of what
used to be
all the things I did
and the you I miss
All gone.....and I am alone"
“And nobody knows what it's like
to be the bad man
the sad man
behind blue eyes......”
With each and every breath,
I just want to ease your pain
to make you smile again
and take the hurt away
to remove the clouds
casting dark shadows
over better days to come
it hurts me so to see you cry
is my love strong enough to
lift you from the doldrums
never again to hear you say.....

I like your use of Pete Townsend's lyric as a springboard for something persona and deeper.

Its a beautiful gift for a friend. Having someone to care like that to write a piece. It's lovely. Hope it will make your friend get the light and smile back.

Thank you for you comments. My friend and former student lost her mother. Losing a parent is difficult at any age; at anytime. It's exacerbated the more when you and your mother share the same birthday, you're the youngest child and were really close to her. That will knock the wind from beneath your wings......I truly pray her strength 😪
