Saracity

They'll be no such thing, as what might have been
You smiled at me, 'twas your mating call
You wouldn't lose me, or let me out of sight.

Canadian winters can be so mean
Come get warm, you said, as the snow did fall
They'll be no such thing, as what might have been.

We arrived at your abode, so bright
Atmosphere better than meeting at the mall
You wouldn't lose me, or let me out of sight.

Another surprise, a hot meal this night
I was in such pain, and you broke my fall
They'll be no such thing, as what might have been.

In the darkness of pain, you were my light
You made me vulnerable, broke down all walls
You wouldn't lose me, or let me out of sight.

You encouraged that lost side of my being
I thought it had died, but had not at all
They'll be no such thing, as what might have been
You wouldn't lose me, or let me out of sight ....!

Author's Note
Folk rock song lyrics, in the style of The Animals or The Troggs (or Donovan for that matter).
Meant to be an upbeat melody.
Written in Villanelle style with a couple line variations thrown in in 5 parts -

1. 'The Weather'
2. 'The Invite'
3. 'The Abode'
4. 'The Meal'
5. 'The Intimate Act'
6. 'The Encouragement'

That is all, really!
