Collateral Damage
Enough will be enough.
Every minute an eternity in agony.
Sadness, no longer the mainstay.
Fury!
Dreams of vows fulfilled, never more.
An act once acted upon is synonym to a lie. Retraction no longer an option.
Is there a point to baring one’s soul?
Will shattered pieces of pledged love, only unto thee, be reparable?
Drunken slurs of disappointment turn to need.
To not be a duo feels crueler.
Nothing will be enough. Constant injuries birth selfish wantonness.

I am sorry to read this, Honoria. The most important question to ask yourself when in doubt over a relationship is this: does the pain of staying together outweigh the pain of being apart? When the answer to that question is yes, it's time to let go and move on.
Broken trust is so difficult to repair; it can be done. But, typically it requires loss to learn the lesson.

The "shattered pieces of pledged love" line spoke to me, reminding me of my past.
