Striking
Her eyes
Are like the flames
Of a drone's strike -
She set me on fire, too
In my immolation
I seared with hope
And not pain
Like they felt death
I felt life,
She took my soul,
Theirs were
Stolen away...
In her eyes
I see life
And wish...
In the abyss
They see death
And pray.

Hope, is a beautiful thing to behold, just like love.
I suspect the others felt as though they fell upon the cusp of death because they wanted to own that; which, cannot be possessed in that way. Free spirits, cannot be owned as such.
