Denial
so what if I'm a little tired
so what if I'm a little stressed
every day I keep on pushing through
or at least I try my best
okay maybe I don't eat enough
and it's kinda bad for my health
but technically
that doesn't mean
that I need professional help
because I'm ok
it may not seem like it
but I'm ok
I'm not a little kid
I don't need you to kiss my hurt
& try to make it go away
everyone knows that doesn't work
at least… not for me anyway...

this is something that we all do for denial is a way of saying come hear me as you understand my thoughts and inner feelings i dont really mean want to push you away...respect

What is most relatable about any expression of art is how it's truth resonates and the heart that is moving behind the words. I read things that are written artificially, to sound like they care about issues and others, in order to attract the most praise, but the beautiful honesty of just talking about our personal struggles has a winsome quality that never fails to touch the heart.
My issue has been the opposite, overeating, trying to bury emotions and fill an unfillable void, but the source is the same, that each of us are dealing with past traumas, manifesting in whatever form. It takes courage to write from vulnerability. Namaste.
I would really appreciate if you would consider, at some point, sending an audio recording of this poem to the site's podcast, The Poetcast Project. Audio readings add fuller dimensions through your unique vocal inflections and nuances of emotion, and it will draw interest to your writing and hopefully forge new friendships.
