Failing

Sometimes you stand too near
And sometimes I'm always too close
When you need distance
And we suffocate
And sometimes those gaspings overlap
In kisses that don't come up for air

I don't know how to color you
Too often I fade to black and white
And like watercolors we run
We're so abstract
We were never meant to stay within the lines
Our colors were meant to bleed

Distance means never near enough
And near is never near enough
I mean it when I whisper, you're so porn
And yet we breath
And sometimes those vibes overlap
In slick, sweat soaked POV vignettes

You push buttons within that no one else has found
And I who stand without long to be stalkerishly/close
We're too provocative for subtlety
Barbed wire and tequila
Out of place, out of touch, but so in tune
I could get used to you, or by you
