Sounds like it's hard times at home. If you have a narcissist for a mom, ouch.
Just remember, you are growing up! New horizons mean a chance to be liberated, so just love yourself and the moms in those who show that spirit to you. The mom platform in the heart is big enough for multiple women. 🌹

Well... I have no idea what you are going through personally. In fact, there are alternative possibilities narcissistic borderline, for example. Or high functioning autism, addiction, or borderline without narcissism. The last one is still a doozy, don't be fooled.

All imply lack of insight and sympathy for you. Perhaps even seeing you as an extension of self?

well possibly..

You can love someone like that (assuming one feels safe enough around them...) as long as you don't let them define who you are or be your only source of support and affirmation.

The raw emotion emanates with clarity. It's always a wonder to me how we traverse so much life, it's joys and struggles, in so few words. Thank you for sharing with us. 💖

My understanding of the various forms of narcissism, as a form of sociopathology, is that a cocktail of poor brain development, a lack of mirror neurons which allow for empathy, putting yourself in someone else's shoes, childhood neglect and trauma, cause the development of an individual I call the heart blind. They often learn to make a very convincing emulation of empathy, but regard others as objects of manipulation, for their own gains. I cannot imagine what it would be like to have the main nurturer of one's childhood having this affliction, but you made it through, to here. 💖
