[ Anniversary 2020 ] 1 27 28 29 2017

   
Three years is a long time
to know a person, yet
we've barely scratched
each other's surfaces;      
     
there's a whole lotta      
unattended back-space-ing    
still left to this very day—    
valleyed pause between      
shoulderings of stanza    
     
waiting    
     
yearning    
     
sweet spots anticipating    
Satisfaction's graceful touch
by devout fingers eager to be      
about-bringers of Our Poem's      
completion    
     
—muscles in need of kneading      
finessing, confessing achings    
in gentle rough draftings—    
     
a collaboration burning
holes in pockets already   
emptied of expectations
