Forged in Fantasy

my ego tells me I'm invincible
my pride says to always go forward
I've mastered almost every goal
each barrier I broke through with ease
the road to victory is forged in fantasy
so I always keep a good distance from reality
but then it happens
the one challenge I can't avoided any longer
the rear of it's ugly head
everytime I've tried to climb that ladder
I've fallen right down on my face
studied each angle
thought every possiblity through
if only it was as easy for me
as others make it seem
my mind has been boggled by the effort
guess I haven't any choice
can't avoid this one any longer
I must try to climb that ladder once again
failure can't be my only option
but just maybe this time it'll be different
there's always a possiblity
if I could just calm my nerves
perhaps I'll be able to taste sweet victory
the one everyone but me seems to have tasted
oh, a man can dream
but it will take more than fantasy this time
victorious or not
I swear I'll break down and cry from the results
