Looking Beyond

Peering out the window of my soul
All I see are bags.
Bags left behind from the past.
Bags of insecurity.
Bags of sadness.
Bags on top of bags.
Itís starting to stink up my reality.
Iím starting not to see
The horizon in the distance.
The Son is shining brightly,
But the bags are providing shade.
Blocking the beauty the Lord has made.

Iíve become a collector of trash.
Hoarding it in my heart.
Itís against Godís will.
He tried to clear it all away,
But I wouldnít let Him.
How do I expect to heal
If that mess keeps blocking
The Son from my window sill?

Iíve got to open up my Bible.
Let loose the fire thatís within.
Torch those bags up
In a blaze of glory
So my new life can begin.
Clearing the way.
I can finally see.
Itís never been a mystery.
Finally looking beyond.
