if you don’t like the dark side
the sinful
belligerent
anarchic
then change the channel

if you cant handle
the politically incorrect
the base
the lustful
then go somewhere else

if you’re not turned on by
four letter words
five letter words
twelve letter words
buzz off

(that was onomatopoeia
at its worst)

if you don’t get
similes
metaphors
colloquialisms
clever plays on words
go read a tabloid

if you don’t understand
sarcasm
practical jokes
innuendo
or
subtle humor
tune in to reality tv

if you can’t
taste
smell
hear
see or
feel
what words have expressed
crawl back in your cave

if you enter this realm
with thin skin
and over-sensitivity

then expect
to be hurt
shamed
titillated
stimulated
offended
and
crushed

with
love
hate
anger
and joy

for this
is the
world
of
the
poet
