Will We Cross the Finish?
There's a little known fact of chess players:
To play they must burn many calories
World class tournament games have been cancelled
Over major weight loss worries
Only...
They had folks to feed them!
Do you think that someone can be practicing 5 instruments
composing music
cleaning
cooking
While coping with grief (loss of parent, child-betrayal, etc)
8 children being guided under 18
chronic debilitating sickness
sleep interrupted/deprivation
financial shenanigans from lying peeps outside the family who might have power to collapse our flow into no stipend at all
Is this all asking for too much from one man? Even with help?
One tired man who must avert crushing financial pressures
by releasing hit music singles!?
Are we crazy!?
I dunno but I'm scared
Life flashes before me
As far as I'm concerned....
We may have to kiss each other
and sing one last song
before titanic icebergs
sink this ship
Please understand the pressures
Life screams at me to stop writing
Yet I keep firing flares
and daring to make friends
...the insane hope
I will find an opportunity
to free us from calamity

Sometimes, when it comes to personal issues, people don't know what to say, Jess. And other would rather message privately. Emotion is a skin many are not comfortable in, particularly publicly. I'm a Scorpio and swim in those deep and shallow waters constantly.
I commend you for your writing passion, and the determination to push through until successful in order to contribute financially to the welfare of your family. This is where you remind me of Kate Chopin, her determination to write in an era where she was expected to be a mother and wife only. She, too, had a husband who supported her personal passions. But, unlike her, you have a chance to be fully published.
The road to success is a very difficult one to hoe. But steadfastness and sowing seeds along the way will certainly produce a bountiful harvest one day. You're a good writer, Jess. Cathartic writes like this are expected, particularly from a mother of ten children. Lastly, when making friends, particularly online, be cautious not clever. . .
