Truth And Lies
I do not understand why people lie
You gain nothing from spreading rumors
Lies are the reason why I don't trust people easily
There is no reason for anyone to not tell the truth
I honestly can not fathom why lying is a thing
...
I'm not going to lie and say I've never done it
Because I definitely have
But because of that, I nearly killed myself
I know the importance of truth now
And I haven't lied since then
...
I believe its just childish and stupid
Everyone deserves the truth no matter what
I'm sure some people would disagree saying certain lies are necessary
But I don't think they are
Honesty is more important to me than anything else
And in this world, that's rare

It honestly baffles me that people can lie so easily. I hate it. This is probably one of my main reasons why I hate humanity so much.

yes i totally agree with you honesty is the best policy just like you its hard for me to trust folks as well for i rather you be truthful with me then lie to me for by being truthful it gives me the choice to take it or leave it but regardless its the truth that one must face then instead of believing within an lie nicely written dear poetess...respect

Your mention you nearly killed yourself by lying I could agree with; it would not suit me to lie if I needed help for a potentially serious condition. Apart from certain authorities I did not tell people at work I was epileptic until I had my last fit which caused me to need rescuing from drowning in a swimming pool, to the shock of my then work colleagues.

It is truly a cruel world, and it's hard to find good, honest people, it really is. Almost everybody lies. It's just how people are, unfortunately :\

There are varying forms of dishonesty, and some are out of kindness, as the truth would serve no good purpose. I think intent would be a factor in this, and there are those who maliciously spread lies out of competitive jealousy. Then others still who lie to take advantage of trusting souls.
It's really sad but it does happen, and hones our instinct in regards to trust. I don't believe you should trust until given a reason not to. I believe trust should be earned.
