Adorable & Cursed

Adorable & cursed, that can’t be right
Each time I pen a happy, little rhyme.
I saw it trending on a thread last night,
I wondered had I gone & lost my mind?

I’m being asked for tasteless poetry,
Adorable & cursed, that can’t be right.
Receiving trophies as an inductee,
A Hallmark card that spills into delight.

When did I lose control to see the light?
The answer’s filled with possibilities.
Adorable & cursed, that can’t be right,
Excuse me as I step outside & sneeze.

I’ll take my final bow when that is all,
To tell the doctor then “go fly a kite.”
And then inside my poet notes I scrawl
Adorable & cursed, that can’t be right!
