Guanzhou
Turbulence in the Pearl River
Far beyond the yellow river
I hear the voice of calamity
Bullets flying
Smoke rising
Guangzhou raided by Western
Powers
From tea to opium
From trade to war
Emperor Daoguan
Refused to compromise
Tea for evil
So he
Fought valiantly
Until his palace
Yuaming garden
Was burnt
Humiliated
And compelled
To open his doors
To evil.
The quing dynasty
Fell
Evil prevailed
China's economy
Was raped
And derailed.
Far beyond the yellow river
I hear the voice of calamity
Bullets flying
Smoke rising
Guangzhou raided by Western
Powers
From tea to opium
From trade to war
Emperor Daoguan
Refused to compromise
Tea for evil
So he
Fought valiantly
Until his palace
Yuaming garden
Was burnt
Humiliated
And compelled
To open his doors
To evil.
The quing dynasty
Fell
Evil prevailed
China's economy
Was raped
And derailed.

I love history, so really enjoyed this offering. It just goes to show you that there were some good rulers out there who cared more for ethics than profit off illegal actions. It's sad what happened to that dynasty. Seems the west wants to swallow everything sacred and holy.
One thing on honest critique:
Until [he's] palace

My favorite proverb is African:
Until the lions have their day history belongs to the hunter.
Until the lions have their day history belongs to the hunter.

It's a very well summarized historical account for those not aware of this past about China.
Unfortunately sometimes history repeats itself.
War is still a daily struggle in many countries around the world.
Oppression and inequality is a blanket worn by the poor and disenfranchised.
