Blue
Love pierces the air,
Shatters my view,
I sigh, the sky
Is blue.
The sky is heavy, stormy,
Lightning slices through,
Thunder growls, anger scowls,
I'm blue.
The heaviness in my brain,
Thoughts of you,
Sadness is back, I am black
And blue.
A kiss shared in the storm,
Love that's never true,
Poison sips, my lips
Are blue.

I wrote this at a time of terrible grief, shortly after separation from my husband. I was so confused as to why I still loved someone who was willing to hurt me so violently.

Blue. Such strong metaphor. Liked its refrain of the explicitly intensely coldening extremeties of blue ....... that need to be anyhow sheared in damagingly ..juggling towards warmth of red of life...you hav portrayed your struggles lucid and concisely well..write on, thanks.
