Sparks

There's a spark
that flew from my heart
I caught it
and held it in my hand
Glows the shape
of a sunny day
Before it flickered
and floated away

There's a spark
Floating in my tears
It broke free
Tumbled down my throat
Sobs and chokes
to my heart set fire
tasting my kisses
hugs and hot desire

There's a spark
escaping my mouth
into wind
from there to my ear
Rumbling drums
rocking me with fear
Burned me so loudly
I no longer can hear

All the best intentions
Fly like living sparks
Let them ride the wind
and set the world on fire

We were all once just sparks
on the wings of best intentions
